Details:
In all probability, this is a vase designed by Johannes Leßmann and made in the Keramische Werkstatt Margaretenhöhe. Johannes Leßmann was a journeyman of Otto Lindig from 1927 to 1930 and if one did not see the signature of the Keramische Werkstatt Margaretenhöhe under this vase, one would be able to assume that it is probably a piece by Bauhaus potter Otto Lindig.

Because not only the glaze with its cloudy runs is typical of Lindig, but especially the extremely fine lip, which appears to be damaged later on in this piece, but which is probably not perfect due to the production process. Probably the white glaze did not behave optimally during firing or was not applied correctly over all areas of the lip before.

All in all, this is an absolutely impressive piece of a Lindig pupil that is convincing both with its shape and the varied glaze; shiny white on the inside, matt pigeon blue with black spots on the outside and lightly boiled up in an area towards the foot, which is why the glaze has developed a rough surface at this point.
