Details:
Thrown ceramic vase of Eugène Lion. The brown-black glaze is reminiscent of Japanese Tenmoku glazes. The vase is an example of Japonism in France. The white-blue glassy overflow shows the influence of the ceramist Jean-Joseph Carriès. Both Eugène Lion and Carriès were active in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye.
