Details:
This is the famous ‘Hallesche Form’ tea set with the decor ‘gold rings’, designed partly by Marguerite Friedlaender-Wildenhain and partly by Trude Petri. The shape of the teacup and the shape of the saucer were designed by Marguerite Friedlaender-Wildenhain and therefore also bear the mark of the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts, where Friedlaender-Wildenhain worked. That is why it is also called the ‘Halle mould’ (Hallesche Form), because the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts is located in Halle.
The cake plate was designed by Trude Petri and is part of KPM’s so-called Urbino service. The gold ring decoration on the cake plate, as well as on the teacup and saucer, can also be traced back to a design by Trude Petri. The gold ring decoration was applied to the tea set by hand.
The tea service was produced in the 1930s by the Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, which was previously and subsequently known as KPM, which stands for ‘Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin’.
