The veduta was painted by the Swiss veduta painter Marie Egg (* 1873, † 1959). On the right is the Niesen and in the background the snow-covered Blümlisalp massif. Marie Egg was a member of the Lauenen circle of veduta painters, referring here to the Lauenen neighbourhood in the Swiss town of Thun.
