1919 stays in Worpswede with Heinrich Vogeler among others

1919-1920 dance tours together with Olga Breling (expression dancer)

1921-1922 with Valentin Frank in the pottery apprenticeship

1922 founds pottery studio in Fischerhude (together with his sister-in-law Amelie Breling): Fischerhuder Kunstkeramik.       

1923 studied at the Seger Institute, Berlin

1931-1932 study trip to Sèvres and to Paris

         

1933-1943 own pottery studio in Tegeler Weg in Berlin (Charlottenburg), destroyed by bombs in 1943

1946-1950 lecturer at the Hochschule für freie und angewandte Kunst in Berlin-Weißenseee; from 1947 to 1950 he was director

1950-1953 establishes series production of ceramics for Dr. Alfred Ungewiß in Dehme (Bad Oeynhausen)

1953-1960 Director at the Meisterschule für das Kunsthandwerk, Berlin (Charlottenburg)

1960-1966 Professor at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg

1969 died in Berlin, Germany
