\nThis oil painting shows the River Aare in the foreground and Schadau Castle in Thun and the Scherzligen Church behind it. The veduta was painted by the Swiss veduta painter Marie Egg (* 1873, \u2020 1959). On the right is the Niesen and in the background the snow-covered Bl\u00fcmlisalp massif. Marie Egg was a member of the Lauenen circle of veduta painters, referring here to the Lauenen neighbourhood in the Swiss town of Thun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
